Note: Because we value your safety and the ability to withstand wear, pressure, or damage over time to your BMW's radiator, you will have to trim a small portion of the black plastic panel that sits above the radiator so that the top two Rad Guard mounting points can be fitted into position.
THIS IS THE ESSENTIAL AFTERMARKET PART!!!
Each Rad Guard comes with its own easy to read fitting instructions. The Rad Guard is bolted onto existing mounting points.
The oil cooler guard is securely hooked over the oil cooler and cable tied to the bottom of the tanks. Cable ties have to be used in this case because there are no solid mounting points under the oil cooler on the bike.
Aircraft grade 6060 T1 –T5 aluminium is used to manufacture our Expanded Mesh & Frames.
The rigid frame of the Rad Guard holds the expanded mesh in place so that hard hits by stones and any other road debris will save your core from certain damage. This rigid frame also acts as a brace to prevent the radiator core from being squashed if a side impact occurs. For example, the bike falls off the stand.
The Expanded Mesh has proven to be the perfect choice of material. It is lightweight and very strong. It does NOT restrict air flow.
The Expanded Mesh sits off your radiator core by approximately 10-15mm, so even a direct hit from a stone, bird or any other road debris will save your radiator core from being damaged.
All Rad Guards come with rubber backing were necessary to alleviate any rubbing or vibration. This has already been installed on the guard.
All Rad Guards come with a 3 Year Transferable Warranty.

They fit perfectly around the radiator and oil cooler...firm no room to vibrate. Rad Guard explains in there instructions that there maybe insufficient room for the washers to mount and refit the clips. I found the best solution to fitting the rad guard is to remove the mount screws (one at a time) and coat threads with loctite. Refit the screws, but before tightening fit the clips, then tighten the screws only until the clips are just firm on the radguard. Leave till the loctite sets (overnight is good). The loctite will hold the screw at the right spot so the radiator and cover are held firm and the clips won't spring off.
The guards look great (black is my preference)
Good product that works, however, might be a little fidgety when fitting to the latest model. Need good tools to adjust the plastic, one done all good . Takes about an hour to fit including the adjustments to the plastic moulding.
Product came to the US quickly and undamaged. Instructions are super clear and installation was seamless. Little intimidated at first in cutting (only on newer model) but it was very easy. Installation took about 1 hour, but that was me taking my time and taking everything apart. If I need to do it again, I could probably do it in 20 minutes. Very satisfied with the product and not only will it protect the components, it looks great as well.
brilliant fit with a bit of adjustment to the plastic!
looks stunning in black hiding the alloy thank you!
