Each Rad Guard comes with its own easy to read fitting instructions. The Rad Guard is bolted onto existing mounting points. There is NO cutting or alterations needed to fit this Rad Guard.
Aircraft grade 6060 T1 –T5 aluminium is used to manufacture our Expanded Mesh & Frames.
The rigid frame of the Rad Guard holds the expanded mesh in place so that hard hits by stones and any other road debris will save your core from certain damage. This rigid frame also acts as a brace to prevent the radiator core from being squashed if a side impact occurs. For example, the bike falls off the stand.
The Expanded Mesh has proven to be the perfect choice of material. It is lightweight and very strong. It does NOT restrict air flow.
The Expanded Mesh sits off your radiator core by approximately 10-15mm, so even a direct hit from a stone, bird or any other road debris will save your radiator core from being damaged.
All Rad Guards come with rubber backing were necessary to alleviate any rubbing or vibration. This has already been installed on the guard.
All Rad Guards come with a 3 Year Transferable Warranty.

I have used Rad guards before, and as usual this one was very easy to fit, the YouTube video is so accurate.
It also matches the colour of the oill cooler, so you hardly notice it, although the metal radguard looks better than the plastic surround on the oil cooler.. -
Softail radiator guard
Great protection for the radiator, very easy to fit (less than ten minutes) using the two original bolts at the top of the radiator. Being a Harley you need an SAE spanner not metric size.

Brilliant bit of Kit and Great service
as harley don't seem to be bothered in protecting the oil cooler on the 2018 range of Softail models its great that radguard have, even if they are bassed in Australia and I live in the UK. These are worth every penny, look great on the bike and will save you from a stone going through the oil cooler which is a costly replacement. Great service too, one of the lugs was bent on its way over but this was replaced free of charge and postage too. If you have a 2018 Softail then this is probabley the most important kit that you can buy.
